No Shares to Borrow in LEND
March 12th, 2007I took Friday off and was excited to get back in the saddle this week after a few days of less than half my normal slice of attention to the markets. A slow opening meant there was fewer stocks on my lists after my scans. I ended up with 6 on my long list and 5 on my short list.
The only setup that I saw that was worth taking was LEND on the break of the 7th bar on the 30 minute chart. Unfortunately, CyberTrader had no shares for me to borrow – I brought up my CyberTrader Live Help window and asked them if they could locate any for me, which they sometimes can. There were none to be had today in LEND, though.
If there had been shares to short, it would’ve been a good trade – not because it would’ve been profitable (although it would have), but because it would have tested my patience. This is exactly the type of trade that I would have tried to hang on to without moving my stop prematurely. That 12:45 candle would’ve made things difficult! If I was the trader I was in January, there’s little doubt that I would’ve been stopped out for pocket change in this trade. I’d like to think the “new me” would’ve held to the end of the day.
